TE Technical Advisor Bernard Metro is a Project Engineer with Westinghouse
Electric Co. LLC and also consults on utility electrical
and I&C issues. He is also a part-time college lecturer
in engineering topics. His role with Text Engineer is that
of a recognized
expert in the fields of power generation, industrial
automation and electronics, as well as nuclear safety
& licensing. He is available for technical authoring,
reviews, project management and engineering consulting.
Mr. Metro began his professional career as a safety evaluation
engineer in the Westinghouse Nuclear Safety Department. He has authored hundreds
of concise safety analysis evaluations on the design, construction, modification
and repair of safety-related nuclear plant systems. Before completing his
engineering studies, Mr. Metro was the coordinating editor of the Westinghouse
Equipment Qualification Test program. As coordinating editor, he was responsible
for generation, review and publication of a large volume of test reports
detailing the environmental and seismic durability of safety-critical electrical
and electronic components in compliance with NRC requirements.
Mr. Metro has authored a number of original methodologies and
analyses that serve as the licensing basis of operating commercial nuclear
generating stations. Review committees of both utility customers and the NRC
staff have scrutinized these works.
In recent years, Mr. Metro has written sets of procedures that
effected the integration of operations of acquired companies and established
project management infrastructure.
Mr. Metro enthusiastically undertakes projects that offer edifying
opportunities, especially where a pioneering spirit and innovative approach are required.
